Blackness

Pulling the covers over your head in bed

In a dark room at night,

Immersed in no light.

It's not about race or social status.

This totally dark "world"

Seems scary,

But it's really not.

Floating in the darkness.

But knowing and feeling protection

Because nothing could harm you

In a giant abyss where there are no weapons.

All equal, unencumbered.

Memories of souls

Surround this everlasting existence.

Emboldening with love and comfort

As they did in their physical presence.

And now we are all one.

Truly caring and sharing

And daring, because we are totally free of fear

In the blackness.
